Figurative Bronze
Figurative Bronze sculpture has a great tradition especially in America. Many people are unaware that the United States had what some call the "American Renaissance" during the late 19th and early 20th century when some of the best figurative bronze sculpture was being created in the U.S. Unfortunately today most of this has disappeared. In fact there are few serious fine art programs in the United States that still offer an education in figurative sculpture.
Raymond Persinger and Marianne O'Barr are two sculptors who are carrying on the tradition of Figurative Bronze, both in the pubic art that they produce and as instructors at the acclaimed Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD).
